Basement Comedy Club, Saturday 30th March 2024

Unlike last year I decided against doing all four weeks of the comedy festival for this show as it meant I was out every Saturday and ended up going out that night also. I had last been to one of these in November and enjoyed it them but there had been a big break.

Was really looking forward to seeing Lara Ricote again as she had the best win last year although they had said all her social media stuff so she did not get any questions the first game.

Joel Kim Booster ended up being pretty funny in his reactions to some of the other contestant’s answers and I would go see him even based on that. I also saw him when I got home in the Criterion Closet on YouTube.

This was one show I wish they had videoed for later but I guess that is why they have these recorded live as you have to be there to get the whole experience. Sometimes they do bleep some things in the answers but there wasn’t anything that seemed to need that this time.

Josh is doing a solo show based on his podcast “Four Burners” but he does not have guests on it. I saw him do some trial material for it after the show in November 2023 so it should be good.

Due to losing my job I am not sure if I will get to see anyone else, I have pretty much booked all the rest of shows I am going to see but this show remains a good way to see different people than you would usually and then you can go see them after if you enjoy them here.

I know some people will be going to the entire run of this and I did spot quite a few people who went out and came back for Little Dum Dum Club after which sold out. They let me stay downstairs as I asked when I arrived. Next time if I do the double I would go and get a drink someplace else.

Always a fun show and Josh usually says most of the guests for the next week’s show at the end of the current week and confirms them during the week if you just want to pop in for the one or two shows and not all four weeks.
