New York based lesbian coyote Bouchra is in the middle of creating an autobiographical film but is stuck. To help out she goes back to see her parents in Casablanca and ends up hooking up with the lawyer from the radio station her friend works at. Eventually we actually get to see the film which merges into the one we are watching at one point.

I must say I recommended this film immediately after watching it to someone who I know would like it and shared it on a group I post to with a lot of LGBITQ+ themes, they approved the post straight away! I would rather not say what that was, that will spoil the surprise!

There surely are sex scenes but that is not the entire point of it that is only part of the story. The characters being animals is really only a metaphor as to how the main character sees themselves.

I did enjoy everyone speaking Arabic in New York as it seems to be set in the future when the New York mayor takes over. How I love that would piss off the MAGA chuds!

Very good character designs and not generic as you would expect with characters based on different animals. For some of them it really does look like just a person with an animal head on.

I thought all the locations were well realised and you could tell it was in different cities even if you do not see all the regular cliches for those cities.

While this is a more niche title, I would still recommend this one even if you are not big into LGBTIQ+ stories as it is quite funny and sweet with the parts about the parents and their relationship with their daughter after she came out in a letter. There is an entire plot line about this letter that is explored also.
