I had not seen Lizzy Hoo in person for a couple of years when she was MC for the New Year’s Eve family “party in the park” in Footscray where Regurgitator started their “family set” with Sucked a lot of cock/Lick my arsehole specifically to annoy the person who told them not to do that I am sure! I had seen Lizzy on the show she did with Shaun Micallef where she went to Ireland to trace her ancestry on her mother’s side. I liked hearing her on Josh Earl’s Four Burners podcast too even though it does make you think you know the person more than you actually do at times.

Lizzy Hoo is probably the highest-profile comedian I will see in the festival apart from Bron Lewis I just don’t really feel the need to go see big headliners unless they are doing a guest spot on a showcase show or part of someone else’s show. Given how long I have been going to the comedy festival I made a point of seeing mainly women this comedy festival as for some reason I end up not being not able to see them after a couple of times. I actually do not know why this happens.
This show covers more from Lizzy Hoo’s life including another story involving her dad’s short-lived massage business and some juicy dating gossip at the end like she saved it up for people. Given the age of her parents it does kind of fit she is the same age now as her parents where when they had her.
The “Asian is over” line is a bit strange. C’mon man! There are still massive racists in this country and a lot of people who go backwards and forwards between SE Asia and Australia regularly and see both countries as their home. Chinese and Indians have taken over from the Greeks and Italians out in thew suburbs to do all the shit jobs the Aussies no longer want to do.

Would actually like to see a Lizzy Hoo cooking show especially the Malaysian restaurant recommendations she picked up from her dating.
This would be a pretty good date show to take someone too I reckon. At least you would have someone to talk about afterwards.
