“WELCOME TO THE FUCK ZONE!”

Actually, I had not planned to see anything on this date but I was asked to come review a show after this one and was reaching to see which other show I could see as I did not recognise any of the names. Someone I follow on Bluesky went to see one of the previews and that was enough for me.

Felicity Ward has been living in London and has not done a Melbourne International Comedy Festival show for some time. At the end of her marriage and being offered a spot on Dancing With the Stars leads her to re-assess how she views her life and priorities and how things can be two things at the same time.

Was interesting to see the comparison between the different dating apps and that she prefers the Feeld one as people are honest about what they want out of it – sex. Not that I would know! RSVP is the only one I tried and they refunded my money as they felt sorry for me.

I did like the dancing stuff and explaining the regime of training that went into Dancing with the Stars. I used to do a dance class but recently tried boot scootin’ and got sent home due to boot-scootin’ related injury (not enough zingers so they knew something was wrong).

Felicity is a bit more physical in this show and does kick out her leg occasionally to make a point.

Due to not much sleep the previous two nights I laughed loudly at most things. I could have taken a photo at the end as I had my camera on me for another show but did not think of it.

I would recommend this one if you are a fan of Felicity Ward and have not seen her for a while. The show is on early enough in the night that you can go get dinner after or go to another show and still not get home too late even on a week night.
