I had seen these two at one of the Flavours of Fringe Night Market events and needed another show to go to as I had already booked Mel McGlensey’s show when there was the flash sale and not anything else that night.

As they said this show was mainly for them to try out new stuff and get people, they knew to perform with them so the quality of the show depends on what guests they have from night to night. Much amusement from Frankie McNair being late and a member of the audience having to read her part in the group sketch.

I did like the group sketch and it really did play out how it would in real life as Trump has proved.

I had already seen the Burton Brothers do a song at the night market but they did a different one here and did not have to make it family friendly this time.

Matt J Wenner had some very awkward conversations with people as a police officer, it took him six tries to get someone who would “open the door”. As someone else mentioned Melbourne audiences are a bit more reserved unless you can really get them into it. Was some funny corpsing in this from the performer though.

Frankie McNair’s bit was quite funny with the googly eyes especially when they both fell off at the end and she had to pretend they were both still stuck on. I have heard of her but have not been to one of her shows in full as yet. For this year’s comedy festival, I mainly went to shows by women so maybe next year?

Overall, it was a fun show and worth going if you want something light to introduce the night. Rather than stay and have a pie I went up the road to have dinner. There is a lot of socialising to be done downstairs at the festival hub and you can hear people taking about shows and get flyered by performers. The best one is when you get given a flyer by someone you have already booked a ticket for.
