I can remember this room being a big thing when it opened as it was a much bigger space than the Northcote Social Club and didn’t have pole in the middle of the room like the Corner Hotel which is similar capacity. If I am honest I also remember going to gigs there in 2010 and 2011 straight after going to visit someone in Preston for a couple of hours which is a bit out of the way for me.

What stopped me going to this place as much was having the Caravan Music Club much closer that I did not have to pay for or get the tram all the way across the city to and from (I hated getting the train home).

An early highlight was the live action Muppet Show tribute and benefit show that I ended up eventually bringing Neil a photo print from when I went back to the venue in 2023 after several years of being away.

Due to moving all the way out to near Werribee in 2019 I can’t make it to any of the gigs during the week without paying over $100 for an Uber home which I would balk at even if I am working. Getting the train is actually a lot quicker these days for me and I have been to Shotkickers just down the road a bit.

There seems to be a lot more businesses around the area these days and a lot more competing venues so I will see how I go with the new person running it and if they put anyone on I want to go see.
