This show assumes you have seen the following video so I’ll put it up first
For the second time in the festival issues with exiting a previous show meant that I was running late for this show and had to have a rest before I entered. Thanks to the staff at the door of Comedy Republic who said it had only just started. At least I was not carrying a KFC Zinger Box this time as I came in earlier than the previous week and had my proper dinner after the last show of the night.
The theme of this show is about Lou Wall lying in her show and how it fits in with the rest of her life including having actual therapy via BetterHelp and ending up being involved in the class action with that company due to a poor experience.
I would not really call it lying depending on your experience. To make things more interesting in the entertainment field you have to inject drama and change names and places to protect on the legal aspect. You could even just do things that seem outlandish but actually happened and so few people believe you that you pretend they were made up. This happens to me all the time!
Claiming that major things in your shows were made up puts you on dangerous ground, what was really true in your previous shows? There was something pretty important in Lou Wall’s show that she had better have been telling the truth about! I need not say what that was! As such I would have to knock a star off retroactively for all her previous shows if I don’t know if it was made up or not. Even the foot fetish rap is still a good song but if it was not real then I officially rescind the 5 star review.
Quite apart from misappropriating other comedians who are in the actual festival and playing the “Male stand-up comedian or serial killer” game during the show. You may think you are funny doing that but word gets out and knives start being sharpened metaphorically.
The point of the show is quite muddled, needs more work when you try to build a lie within a lie within a lie. As such I cannot really recommend this one at this time it feels more like a Melbourne Fringe Show that needs about another six months to get ready maybe a trip to Edinburgh and it will be better.
